Review: Hotel Extreme Pamporovo
When I stay in a hotel I don’t care about how big my room is or if there is an air conditioner, flat screen TV or a DVD. I do care about how friendly the hotel is not only to customers but to the destination and the surrounding area in general. That is what impressed me the most about Hotel Extreme in Pamporovo, Bulgaria where we stayed during Rozhen Festival – the biggest national folklore festival in the country.
My overall rating about the Hotel Extreme Pamporovo is:
Hotel Extreme is located in Pamporovo, one of the main ski resorts in Bulgaria. During winter it is one of the perfect places to stay in because it’s just about 5 minutes away from the ski slopes and the chair lift. Many hotels in Pamporovo are open only during winter because exactly the ski tourism is the main type of tourism for the town.
But Hotel Extreme is open even during the summer because they realize that the destination has so much more to offer than good ski slopes and I just love that about it! The hotel is close to so many spectacular places – natural and historical, and it does everything possible to promote those places. This leads to my next criteria…
Hotel Extreme cares about its guests but it does care about its surroundings, too. The hotel promotes in any possible way the nearby sights so the guests can have a choice of what to do during their vacation in Pamporovo. The hotel staff also care about the environment. Moreover, in September they are going to repair a nearby pavilion and wood barbeque for the passing hikers. They also have this policy that if you cancel the housekeeping service for your room, you get 5 BGN discount a day from the price of your room! How cool is that!?
The only week point I find very important was the Wi-Fi. It was really hard for me to connect to the internet and do my work. Whenever I travel I always count on the good and fast Wi-Fi connection but I’m sure the problem is not so big for others and the Wi-Fi must work well in other parts of the hotel!
I didn’t expect anything else than a 5-star cleanliness in Hotel Extreme. I think the basic thing for a hotel is to be clean so it’s not even up for discussion!
As the name hints, Hotel Extreme Pamporovo offers full range of activities to try during winter and summer. I love the horse riding activities, cave tours, paintball… There is a pool, a fitness, a Spa with sauna, billiard… The hotel also promotes all the nearby sights such as: the Orpheus rocks, Snezhanka peak and tower, Kaleto area, the Wonderful bridges, Devil’s Throat Cave and many other spectacular places that are worth seeing. I really loved the Momchil’s Fortress and the movie about Momchil Hero, projected on the rocks of the peak.
Hotel Extreme Pamporovo is one of my favorite hotels I ever stayed at. It may not be luxurious hotel but it does care about its surroundings, about the destination Pamporovo and about its guests. That’s what is the most important for me – to see that people who work there are passionate not only about profit but also about the destination and environment!

Disclaimer: Me and Krasi received 2 free nights in Hotel Extreme Pamporovo. I wouldn’t have said yes if I already didn’t know what the hotel does and how it cares about the destinations so you must be sure that the opinion is our own and not influenced by anything or anyone. I recommend Hotel Extreme Pamporovo 100%!
