“And then I realized adventures are the best ways to learn”
When I was younger I was very jealous of people who were travelling to exotic places, achieving the “impossible”, having endless ultimate adventures all around the world. Those people seemed so happy and so fortunate to live their dreams. I thought they were just lucky, or rich, or any other “excuse” for my ignorance and unawareness.
Then a few years ago, after one eye-opening trip to Sicily, I realized that we are the ones who create our desired life, who can make our dreams and goals come true and make everything possible. I haven’t travelled much, nor have I had the best adventures in the world. But with my changed mindset towards life, I know I can achieve everything. That’s why every year I set higher and higher goals to myself and put them in my bucket list.
This time, I’m doing something slightly different. I’m setting up a list of the ultimate, once in a lifetime adventures I can have in Europe. I don’t know when, I don’t know how, but I know I can do it. Those adventures are the ones I really want to experience one time only, but to remember for life.
The bar is high but, as I said, everything is possible. I hope you find your own travel inspiration in my list of 5 once in a lifetime adventures to have in Europe!
1. Have Dinner in the Sky
This is just surreal! Having dinner I-don’t-know-how-many-meters above the ground as it is something normal to fly around in a chair. There are Dinners in the sky everywhere around Europe, so it is absolutely possible to get on one of those tables. I get scared travelling by plane (shout out to my epic Skydiving jump in Empuriabrava), I can only imagine what it’s like without anything stable around you. After all, I love to challenge myself and overcome my fears. That’s why I think this experience will be one I’ll never forget. Would you dare to do it?

2. Island hopping in the Mediterranean
There’s something romantic about the Mediterranean, don’t you think? The only island I’ve been is Sicily, but I want to visit Sardinia, Minorca, Corsica, Elba or Giglio. I’m sure each one of them is a whole new adventure, but imagine visiting them all with your own yacht or cruise. As fancy as it sounds, I’m sure this would be the ultimate Mediterranean trip.
3. Reindeer ride in Lapland
“When in Rome… jump on a sleigh and ride those reindeers like Santa!” and that’s exactly what I want to do. Reindeer ride in Lapland sounds like a perfect for a list of ultimate adventures to have in Europe. It is definitely unique and fairytale-like experience, almost like making a child’s dream come true. Also, it’s a great opportunity to see the magical Northern Lights, too.

4. Sunrise hot air ballooning in Cappadocia, Turkey
I’ve been hearing about hot air ballooning in Cappadocia very often as Bulgaria is just a step away from Turkey. However, I also thought wanting to do it by myself was too unrealistic for me. Now, as I write this post, I’ve even came up with a travel plan on how and when to get there in order to hop on the hot air balloon in Cappadocia as soon as possible. Magical!
5. Snorkeling in the Silfra fissure
I recently wrote down my Iceland to-do list and read a lot about Silfra fissure – Iceland’s amazingly beautiful underwater phenomenon. My ultimate scare of deep water won’t get on my way to have this adventure someday!
This list of my top 5 once in a lifetime adventures to have in Europe is definitely my idea for ultimate travel experience. I don’t know when and how, but someday I will make those goals come true.
What is your idea for the ULTIMATE TRAVEL ADVENTURE?

Amazing picks. I would love to dine in the sky once too. Also, I love the way how you set your bucket list goals, specific and achievable, yet amazing experiences. Maybe I should do the same 🙂

The Dinner in the Sky looks so interesting! I heard about it a few months ago and I want it on a list, that way it is easier to follow your goals, right! 🙂

Especially loved your opening paragraphs to this post – so true & a really great outlook to have. I’m going to remind myself of this from time to time so thank you! Great ideas too. I often take Europe for granted, but this shows you how many great opportunities we have on our doorstep. I’d especially love to go husky sledging! Next year I’m ticking off something from my Europe bucket list – a trip to Dracula’s Castle in Transylvania!

Nice list! The dinner in the sky has hit Athens as well. Would love to ride some reindeer in Lapland one day.

These are some dreamy adventures! I’m a bit hesitant about the dinner in the sky thing – what if I have to pee? :)) Nevertheless, I’d definitely try it at least once! (and maybe not drink too many liquids beforehand) 🙂

Haha I never thought of that, maybe it’s a good idea to not drink too much beforehand! 😀
